Hello, my name is David Liao. I’m a Geologist, Engineer, and CEO of Protech Diamond Tools, a family owned and operated company. My son Calvin and daughter Maggie are learning the intricacies of creating and engineering diamond matrix designs, a speciality best described as modern alchemy-a combination of geology, metallurgy, and engineering. 

For 25+ years, we at Protech Diamond Tools Inc. have manufactured top-quality diamond blades and cores for US & Canadian markets. We’re dedicated to continually improving our blades and cores. Even during the upheavals caused by the coronavirus pandemic, I followed my vision of developing blades specifically for North American aggregates. With my extensive experience in concrete and blade design for North American markets, we successfully developed a groundbreaking new generation blade that offers increased durability and faster cutting speeds.

Redesigning Protech’s Cured & Asphalt blades was a complex task. My team faced fierce competition from aggressive megacorporations. But, I was determined to achieve what many big diamond tool companies could not, the holy grail of diamond matrix design: fast cutting speeds and long life. A combination that guarantees more efficient and cost-effective blades.

Sensitive to industry demands and trends, our singular low dust design now leads the way. Increased water retention on the blade reduces dangerous silica dust and creates a more efficient slurry distribution, minimizing airborne dust. A win-win for users and the surrounding environment.
